We are looking for a talented FPGA-based EVSE Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of next-generation EV charging systems.

As an FPGA-based EVSE Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for FPGA-based EVSE systems. You will work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our EV charging solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of FPGA design, EV/EVSE systems, and firmware development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create projects in Vivado for the target FPGA devices, and write HDL code. Run synthesis and implementation, and generate bitstream files. 
• Firmware Development with Vitis SDK by creating platform projects, writing bare-metal C/C++ code, build and debug projects.
• Embedded Linux Development with PetaLinux by creating PetaLinux projects, configuring kernel and root filesystem, build and deploy Linux images. 
• Integrate firmware with FPGA design, boot systems, and verify/debug the complete system.
• Implement and support interfaces such as RS232, RS485, Flash, DDR3, RFID, WiFi/Bluetooth, LCD, and Ethernet.
• Work with communication protocols like UART, I2C, SPI, and EVSE-specific protocols such as J1772, OCPP, Matter, and Home Green PHY. 
• Build and synchronise the operating system with dashboards or remote servers and web applications. Building OTA functionalities.
• Document design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and software developers, to ensure integrated and comprehensive product development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in firmware development for EV or EVSE systems.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
• Experience with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Vitis SDK, or similar.
• Familiarity with communication protocols used in EVSE systems (e.g., J1772, OCPP, ISO 15118, CAN, Modbus).
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for EVSE (e.g., UL, IEC, SAE).
• Experience with FPGA Zynq interfaces RS232, RS485, DDR3, CAN, RFID, Wifi, Bluetooth, LCD, and UART, I2C, SPI, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience in IoT Gateways and cloud communication such as OCPP knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA design and development is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools and techniques (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
