Electrical Engineer For PLC & Control Panel

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of electrical systems within our coating facility. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, machinery, and safety regulations. You will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to maintain electrical equipment, improve processes, and implement new electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design and Maintenance:

Design, implement, and troubleshoot electrical systems for coating equipment and machinery.

Regularly maintain and upgrade electrical control panels, circuits, and other electrical components to ensure optimal operation.

Oversee the installation of new electrical systems and machinery, ensuring they are compliant with industry standards and safety regulations.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in the powder coating machines, conveyors, curing ovens, spray booths, and other equipment.

Perform root cause analysis of electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.

Respond to electrical emergencies and malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.

Process Optimization:

Collaborate with the production team to improve electrical aspects of the powder coating process for better performance and efficiency.

Analyze electrical systems for potential energy-saving opportunities and cost reductions.

Suggest and implement improvements to electrical systems that will enhance operational efficiency and product quality.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and local electrical codes.

Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment to ensure safety measures are being followed.

Create and enforce safety protocols to minimize electrical hazards in the facility.

Project Management:

Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical installation and upgrade projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and safety standards.

Manage electrical inventory, including parts, tools, and other resources needed for maintenance and repairs.

Liaise with vendors and contractors for electrical services, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of required materials and services.

Training and Support:

Provide technical training to plant operators and maintenance staff on electrical systems and equipment.

Offer on-the-job support to help resolve electrical issues encountered by other team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience (2+ years) as an Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within the powder coating or similar industries.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), control panels, and power distribution systems.

Familiarity with industrial automation, electrical troubleshooting, and safety standards.

Proficiency in using electrical design and diagnostic tools.

Knowledge of energy-efficient electrical practices and cost-reduction techniques.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and external contractors.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with automated equipment and robotic systems used in powder coating.

Familiarity with ISO and other quality management systems.

Certification in electrical safety or related fields.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to industrial machinery and electrical systems.

Requires the ability to work under pressure, especially during maintenance or breakdown situations.

Willingness to work occasional overtime or on-call for urgent repairs or installations.
