Field Coordinator – Farmer Engagement

Summary of the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic Field Coordinator to join our team at Indian Herbs Online, the first aggregator platform for medicinal herbs in India. This role is crucial to building strong relationships with farmers, onboarding them onto our platform, and ensuring seamless integration into our supply chain. Success in this role means increasing farmer participation, maintaining high engagement levels, and ensuring quality and transparency at every stage of the process.

As a Field Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between traditional herbal farming and modern business practices, aligning with our mission to empower farmers and support the Ayurveda industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular visits to rural areas to identify and engage with medicinal herb farmers.
• Explain the benefits of Indian Herbs Online and guide farmers through the onboarding process.
• Collaborate with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), local government bodies, and agricultural networks to expand reach.
• Provide training to farmers on quality standards, packaging, and logistics processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for farmers, addressing queries and ensuring smooth communication.
• Gather and report data on farmer registrations, product availability, and field activities.
• Build long-term relationships with farmers to foster trust and collaboration.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Business, or a related field (preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in rural outreach, community engagement, or agricultural projects.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and regional languages.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Basic proficiency in technology, including smartphones and online platforms.

• Ability to travel extensively across rural areas.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to problem-solving.
