We’re Hiring | Field Application Scientist (FAS) – Academia

Location: Gurugram, India | Territory: North India

MTOR Group is expanding its Academia-focused technical team and is looking for a highly motivated Field Application Scientist (FAS) to support researchers, faculty, and institutional customers across North India.

Role Overview

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will act as the technical bridge between MTOR’s product portfolio and academic customers, providing pre-sales and post-sales application support, technical demonstrations, and scientific consultations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales application support to academic and research institutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, trainings, workshops, and seminars for faculty, researchers, and students.
• Support the sales team with technical presentations, application discussions, and solution positioning.
• Assist customers in experimental design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation related to MTOR’s product portfolio.
• Develop and deliver application notes, technical presentations, and scientific content.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, research trends, and competitor offerings in life sciences.
• Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and academic stakeholders across North India.
• Travel extensively within the assigned territory to support customers and channel partners.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry (mandatory).
• Strong hands-on experience with core molecular biology and life sciences techniques.
• Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain complex scientific concepts in a clear and practical manner.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Prior experience as a Field Application Scientist, Application Specialist, or Postdoctoral Researcher with customer-facing exposure.
• Familiarity with instruments, reagents, and workflows used in academic and research laboratories.
• Willingness to travel across North India.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and customer-centric approach.
