Excelra - Sapio Engineer - LIMS Configuration & Implementation

Key Responsibilities

• Sapio ELN/LIMS Configuration & Implementation :
• Lead the configuration, customization, and deployment of Sapio ELN/LIMS systems.
• Design and implement scientific workflows, templates, and forms tailored to R&D processes.
• Optimize data models for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Support integration of Sapio ELN/LIMS with other laboratory instruments and enterprise systems.
  

Workflow Automation & Scientific Informatics

• Develop and implement automated workflows to streamline laboratory processes.
• Provide solutions for scientific data handling, storage, and retrieval.
• Collaborate with scientists and R&D teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical configurations.
  

Programming & Data Management

• Use Python, SQL, or other scripting languages to automate tasks, generate reports, and handle complex datasets.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure high-quality information is captured and accessible.
  

Compliance & Validation

• Ensure all implementations adhere to 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and other regulatory standards. Support system validation, testing, and audit readiness activities.
• Maintain proper documentation and SOPs related to Sapio ELN/LIMS usage.
  

Team Collaboration & Support

• Resolve system escalations and provide guidance to delivery and support teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, IT, QA, and vendors.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and end-users.
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Sapio ELN/LIMS configuration and implementation in biotech or pharma R&D.
• 7+ years overall experience in scientific informatics, ELN/LIMS systems, or related platforms.
• Strong expertise in workflow automation, data model design, and scientific informatics solutions.
• Proficiency in scientific applications such as ELN, LIMS, Empower, or similar systems.
• Experience with programming/scripting for scientific data handling (Python, SQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with compliance standards including 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and related regulations.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and technical leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience in integrating Sapio ELN/LIMS with laboratory instruments or ERP systems.
• Knowledge of cloud-based ELN/LIMS deployments.
• Exposure to data analytics or visualization tools for scientific reporting.
