Environmental Health and Safety Executive

Role & responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and national EHS regulations.
  
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements and industry standards.
  
• Assist in preparing documentation and coordinating with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
  

2. Safety Programs & Risk Management

• Conduct routine workplace inspections, risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID studies, and incident investigations.
  
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  
• Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, preparing periodic reports for management.
  

3. Training & Awareness

• Conduct EHS training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  
• Promote safe work practices and lead toolbox talks, emergency drills, and safety campaigns.
  

4. Incident Management

• Respond to and manage workplace incidents, near-miss events, and emergencies.
  
• Implement root-cause analysis (RCA) techniques and maintain incident documentation.
  

5. Environmental Management

• Support implementation of waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
  
• Monitor emissions, effluents, and environmental parameters as applicable to the facility.
  

6. Documentation & Systems

• Maintain EHS documentation, including SOPs, checklists, MSDS/SDS, permits, and compliance logs.
  
• Assist with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or other EHS management system requirements.
  

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or related field.
  
• Diploma in Industrial Safety or NEBOSH/IOSH certification (preferred).
  

Skills

• Strong understanding of EHS regulations and best practices.
  
• Good communication and training skills.
  
• Ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  
• Proficiency in EHS software/tools (preferred).
