The Role:
An
Engineer II, Recovery Services Operations (Network)
plays a key role in supporting and maintaining recovery systems and services critical to our customer’s business continuity. This position will assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving recovery infrastructure and processes to ensure reliable and efficient restoration in the event of disruptions. The incumbent will also collaborate with other internal teams to execute recovery procedures efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Manage work queue to complete all assigned tickets and related activities, providing clear and concise updates in ticketing system accurately and on time.
- Execute customer-specific recovery procedures in assigned recovery technology focus area(s) to provision hardware, install OS, configure servers, and restore operating systems, applications, and data.
- Review technical recovery procedures for clarity and accuracy prior to recovery or test event.
- Create and update SOP’s and Knowledge Base for assigned recovery technology focus area(s).
- Lead pre-test calls, capture all the dependencies of the platform, and prep servers or applications for upcoming tests.
- Identify and follow the escalation procedure as required.
- Collaborate with other internal teams to execute recovery procedures efficiently and support recovery initiatives.
- Proactively own incidents and resolve issues independently.

- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle company data and information per Company data handling agreements, work procedures and policies.
- Review and follow company policies and guidelines, data privacy practices, including annual compliance training certification and policy acknowledgements.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study, or equivalent years of demonstrated work experience required.
- 3+ years of technical experience in a role involving direct customer contact.
- Advance Proficiency with CISCO networking infrastructure and the operating systems.
- Prior experience with configuration and management of Cisco Nexus switches (5k, 7k, 7710, 9k), and Cisco Catalyst switches (3560, 3750, 3850, 6500).
- Experience with firewall/VPN support and management (Cisco ASA, Fortigate, Palo Alto).
- Understanding of load balancing principles and practices (F5 Bip IP, Citrix Netscaler).
- Strong background in troubleshooting network related issues within a physical and virtualized environment (ESXi, HyperV).
- Working knowledge of network routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
- Understanding of VTP (Vlan Trunking Protocol), and Q-in-Q tunneling (802.1Q tunneling).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams (Lucid Chart/MS Visio) and Excel spreadsheets.
- Preferred Skills - familiar with Linux operating system and understanding of cloud architecture and principles (AWS/Azure)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network technologies and ability to effectively use diagnostic tools as required.
- Must be able to quickly adapt and learn new processes and technologies, gaining expertise in at least one technology and working towards multi-skilling.
- Willingness to accommodate additional hours or varying shift types as necessary based on the company’s 24 x 7 global operating model.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in disaster recovery exercises preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in assigned country without visa sponsorship.
