Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Business Analyst (BA)
with strong
Life, Group, and Supplemental Health insurance domain expertise
to support EIS platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will bridge business needs and technical solutions across multiple EIS domains and integrations, focusing on business process alignment, requirements definition, and end-to-end solution validation.This role requires
deep functional understanding of insurance value chain, operations and product structures
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and solution architects to elicit and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Translate complex insurance product rules (Life, Group, Supplemental Health) into clear business and system specifications.
- Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Process Maps, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead workshops, discovery sessions, requirement refinement sessions
- Ensure all requirements align with EIS functional capabilities while maintaining business intent.
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Domain & Product Expertise
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Life, Group, and Supplemental Health product lines
- Working knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance is an added advantage
- Map end-to-end policy lifecycle processes — quote, new business, underwriting, issuance, billing, claims, renewals, and lapse management.
- Support rating, product configuration, and underwriting rule design discussions with product and actuarial teams.
- EIS Platform & Integrations
- Exposure to EIS Suite (PolicyCore, BillingCore, ClaimCore, CustomerCore) — able to understand capabilities, not required to configure.
- Collaborate with EIS configuration, data, and integration teams to ensure requirements are correctly translated into PolicyCore, BillingCore, ClaimCore, and CustomerCore modules.
- Understanding of EIS integration architecture (APIs, batch, middleware).
- Familiarity with XML/JSON data structures, interface documentation, and data mapping concepts.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Process & Solution Design
- Analyze and document “As-Is” and “To-Be” business processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Apply prioritization techniques to create and prioritize product backlog and requirement elicitation
- Partner with solution architects to validate designs against business needs and regulatory constraints.
- Support test planning and UAT. Provide post-implementation support and ensure alignment with business outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, IT, Actuarial, Operations, and QA teams.
- Partner with integration vendors and third-party administrators as needed.
- Serve as the liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clarity and completeness in requirements communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance Certifications (AINS/CPCU/CII/LOMA)
- Agile certification (CSPO, CSM, Safe Practitioner)
- BA certifications ( CCBA, CBAP, IIBA, PMI-PBA)
- Prior experience on major PAS transformation programs (EIS, Vitech, Oracle OIPA, FINEOS, etc.).
- Knowledge of insurance data standards (ACORD XML, JSON API specs).
