We are looking for a senior HSE Director to Valmet’s Flow Control business area to lead our business area in overall HSE management and development. Our aim is zero harm to people and the environment by investing in safety culture, collaborating with customers and partners and continuous improvement of best-in-class HSE management practices.As Director, HSE, you play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld across Valmet's Flow Control Business Area. You lead a global organization of 12+ HSE professionals, and together you take strong responsibility for achieving world-class HSE performance.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- You work with Flow Control business area management to develop and lead the implementation of global HSE strategy, improvement, targets, and initiatives
- You participate in the development of standardized HSE procedures and practices as a part of Valmet HSE leadership team and take the ownership of a safety culture in Flow Control
- Conduct and oversee business area HSE risk assessments and participate in due diligence activities
- Secure embedding of HSE objectives in business processes
- Drive carbon neutrality, circularity, energy efficiency and nature regeneration in the operational footprint.
- Collaborate with external bodies, such as customers, suppliers, regulators and industry groups in joint safety development initiatives
- Track HSE performance metrics, analyze trends, report to leadership and coordinate, deliver and follow-up HSE training
- Lead and manage high performing global team of HSE professionals to secure compliance, certifications and continuous improvement.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need
- More than 5 years’ of management experience in HSE in an international company
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field
- Proven change management and performance improvement experience
- Strong managerial skills with coaching and psychological safety leadership style
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards as well as HSE legislation
- Good networking and negotiating skills, ability to influence people in international matrix organization
- English language is our company language and minimum along with presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills
- Willingness to travel to some extent
