Director - Finance

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly close process in adherence with Staples Inc. close timeline. Ensure monthly trial balance is accurate, complete and reported timely to Staples Inc.
  
• Provide support to Staples Financial Planning Team providing input to Financial budgets and forecasts as required.
  
• Provide analysis of results such as explanation for material month over month fluctuations of financial results.
  
• Oversee preparations and review of balance sheets reconciliations
  
• Manage the accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements process
  
• Prepare and manage inter company transfer pricing billing process with the parent companies
  
• Manage cash flow and all treasury functions reviewing daily cash activity, approving wires/payments, ensure all bank accounts are reconciled to GL monthly and providing cash flow forecasts
  
• Oversee payroll processing in conjunction with HR and recording of payroll activity and benefits to GL
  
• Provide audit support for Statutory audit and Tax requirements in India
  
• Review and approve the final direct and indirect tax returns prepared by providers
  
• Oversee day to day finance activities with out outside service providers.
  
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are appropriately designed and are operating effectively
  
• Maintain documentation of key controls
  
• Ability to set up and scale new accounting processes under direction of Staples Inc.
  
• Serve as main point of contact for any accounting planning, treasury and tax questions from Staples Inc.
  
• Provide financial support and insight to local leaders
  
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to associates
  

Skills/Competencies & Certification Requirements

• 10-15 years of Accounting Experience
  
• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CBA) with degree in accounting preferred.
  
• Highly motivated
  
• Ability to work independently
  
• Strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  
• Ability to lead a small team
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to summarize issues.
