How will you make an impact in this role?
As Director & Counsel, you will report to the Vice President and Senior Counsel and support the Global Legal Order Processing Center of Excellence in its day-to-day operations. You will provide legal and operational support for legal order processing global functions performed in India. You will also lead and manage a legal operations team of 30+ colleagues, handle escalated legal orders and manage the changes in process to meet internal standards and policies to mitigate risk and increase operational efficiencies.
In this role you will also:
• Ensure that all legal order processing is performed in a manner that is compliant with internal policies and procedures and also applicable local laws and regulations.
• Handle escalated legal orders for the India market, inclusive of witness testimony.
• Escalate third party legal orders to the Vice President & Senior Counsel when required.
• Provide coaching to colleagues in instances requiring performance improvement and support colleague development and training.
• Adhere to internal risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls and identify and promptly escalate and manage legal or operational issues to senior management.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Law with admission to practice law and in good standing.
• 10+ years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment independently handling a broad range of litigation matters.
• Experience leading teams and/or working with complex and large volume discovery matters.
• Proficiency in English.
• Executive presence and ability to effectively interact with colleagues and others at all levels within and outside of the organization.
• Adherence to high ethical and professional standards.
• Comfortable with learning new processes and using technology tools.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
• A strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, flexibility and genuine enthusiasm to support colleagues and assist with special projects when needed.
• A structured, analytical, and meticulous with an independent approach to work.
• Interest in operational processes.
