Purpose of the role:

Support Strategic and Operational procurement activities for Direct Materials.

Responsibilities:

Perform local purchasing according to defined strategy and frameworks:

• Operational purchasing - Steel
• Single point PIC for managing entire steel delivery (Tier 2) operations
• Coordinate with Tier 1 suppliers + all mills + internal stakeholders (Factory SC + Factory Purchase) to ensure timely deliveries
• Use data and analytics to give early warning signals
• Continuously track supplier performance
• Support scrap activities
• Operational support for all development related activities
• Coordinate with Finance team

• Category Management
• Manage Heat Treatment category individually
• Support Category Manager (CM) for all strategic and operational activities for Rings + Components
• Work with CM + Supplier Quality Team + cross-functional teams to ensure that strategies are executed
• Support development of new suppliers
  

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech.
• 4-8 years of relevant techno-commercial experience in Auto / Industrial cos.
• 2+ years of sourcing & procurement experience (1 or more of Q/C/D experience)
• Very high levels of ownership + High attention to detail
• Clear understanding of procurement process + Good commercial sense
• Good PMO & follow-up skills
• Data driven/ comfort with data
• Mature communication and teamwork orientation
• Good to have – Worked as steel buyer + exposure to Heat Treatment
