Direct Material Buyer - Central Purchase

Role Overview: You will be responsible for supporting Strategic and Operational procurement activities for Direct Materials at SKF. This includes performing local purchasing according to defined strategy and frameworks, managing steel operations, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, tracking supplier performance, supporting scrap activities, and providing operational support for development activities. Key Responsibilities: - Perform operational purchasing for steel materials - Act as the single point of contact for managing entire steel delivery operations - Coordinate with Tier 1 suppliers, mills, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries - Utilize data and analytics for early warning signals - Continuously monitor and track supplier performance - Support scrap activities and development related tasks - Manage the Heat Treatment category individually - Assist Category Manager in strategic and operational activities for Rings and Components - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strategy execution - Support the development of new suppliers Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech. degree - 4-8 years of relevant techno-commercial experience in Auto/Industrial companies - 2+ years of sourcing and procurement experience, including Quality/ Cost/ Delivery experience - High levels of ownership and attention to detail - Clear understanding of procurement processes and good commercial sense - Strong PMO and follow-up skills - Data-driven with comfort in handling data - Effective communication and teamwork skills - Preferred experience in steel buying and exposure to Heat Treatment If interested, please share your updated profile with Supriya Joshi at supriya.joshi@skf.com.,
