Design Manager

Location: Chakan, Pune

The Design manager is a senior-level position responsible for leading the design and

development of innovative and high-quality trailers, tippers, and dumpers. This role requires

strong technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to guide the company's

product roadmap and ensure competitive advantage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Product Development:

-Develop and execute the long-term product strategy for trailers, tippers, and dumpers,

aligning with market trends, customer needs, and company objectives.

-Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and technology scouting to identify new

product opportunities.

-Define product specifications, features, and performance targets.

Design Leadership:

-Lead and mentor a team of design engineers, providing technical guidance and career

development support.

-Oversee all stages of the design process, from concept development to final production.

-Ensure adherence to design standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Advanced Engineering:

-Drive the adoption of advanced engineering principles and technologies, such as:

-Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural optimization

-Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for aerodynamic and thermal analysis

Lightweighting technologies and materials

-Advanced manufacturing techniques

Project Management:

-Manage complex design projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget,

and to the required quality standards.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, procurement, sales) to

ensure smooth product development and launch.

Innovation and Intellectual Property:

-Foster a culture of innovation within the design team.

-Identify and protect intellectual property through patents and other mechanisms.

Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. PhD in Engineering

is a strong plus.

Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in the design and development of heavy-

duty vehicles, with a strong focus on trailers, tippers, and dumpers.

Technical Expertise:

Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, structural mechanics, and materials science.

Expertise in CAD/CAE software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, ANSYS).

Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, DOT, etc.).

Leadership and Management:

Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate high-

performing teams.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
