Mold Design Engineer Job Profile About BroTech Bro-Tech is a highly professional mould design and mould maker located in Vasai Road, Maharashtra We specialize in manufacturing of injection moulds for packaging and household industries. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mold Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The Mold Design Engineer will be responsible for the complete mold design lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to validation and optimization, ensuring the creation of highquality, efficient, and cost-effective molds for our injection mold manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of the tooling principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes, along with proficiency in CAD software . Conceptualization and Design:  Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and sales teams to understand product requirements and specifications.  Develop innovative and manufacturable mold concepts based on part geometry, material, production volume, and cost targets .  Perform detailed 2D and 3D mold designs using CAD software SolidWorks / siemens NX  Design all mold components including cores, cavities, ejector systems, cooling systems, gating systems, hot runner systems, and mold bases. Analysis and Optimization:  Conduct mold flow analysis to optimize gate locations, cooling circuits, and part filling.  Perform DFM analysis to identify and resolve potential molding issues.  Analyze tolerance stack-ups and ensure proper part functionality and manufacturability.  Propose design modifications to improve mold performance, reduce cycle times, and minimize material waste. Documentation and Communication:  Create comprehensive mold design drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and specifications.  Maintain accurate design records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.  Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers regarding design progress, challenges, and solutions.  Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise. Tooling and Manufacturing Support:  Provide technical support during mold manufacturing, assembly, and try-out phases.  Collaborate with toolmakers to ensure accurate mold fabrication and adherence to design specifications.  Troubleshoot mold-related issues during production and implement corrective actions.  Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mold design and manufacturing processes. Research and Development :  Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mold design technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.  Propose and implement new design methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and quality. Qualifications :  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Tool & Die Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field Experience  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mold design for plastic injection molding.  Proven track record of designing complex and high-precision molds. Technical Skills:  Proficiency in 3D CAD software SolidWorks or NX.  Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).  Knowledge of various tooling materials, heat treatment processes, and surface finishes.  Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, EDM, grinding, etc.  Understanding of plastic materials and their molding characteristics Soft Skills:  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Effective communication and interpersonal skills.  Strong organizational and time management abilities.
