About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our team. The role involves reverse engineering, detailed design, customer coordination, and data management. The ideal candidate should be skilled in 3D modeling, drafting, and cost analysis, while being able to collaborate effectively with manufacturing and customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reverse Engineering

• Benchmark existing products and analyze for improvement opportunities.

• Prepare rough drawings and initial design concepts.

• Create 3D models and engineering drafts.

• Coordinate with the manufacturing team for feasibility.

2. Detailed Design

• Develop precise 3D models and detailed product drawings.

• Set target prices for new designs.

• Prepare costing sheets for quotation purposes.

• Apply weight, density, and manufacturing protocols to designs.

3. Customer & Manufacturing Coordination

• Understand customer specifications and requirements after order receipt.

• Prepare purchase and production plans.

• Refine manufacturing costs based on customer inputs.

• Address customer objections, manage defect rectification, and ensure quality solutions.

4. Data Management

• Maintain updated benchmark data and rough drawings.

• Keep 3D models, drawings, and costing sheets organized and current.

• Document project-wise costing and maintain records of meetings and updates.

• Record daily work updates and prepare estimation sheets.

Key Result Areas (KRA)

• Performance review meetings every 90 days (approx. 1 hour).

• Active participation in target-setting and performance improvement discussions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in product design and development.

• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or equivalent).

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and costing.

• Ability to handle customer communication and resolve objections.

• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and coordination abilities.
