Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading the sales department and driving customer growth. The role involves developing market penetration strategies, planning advertising campaigns, and designing offerings to retain existing customers while expanding the customer base. The incumbent will oversee all sales activities, operations, customer care, and support systems.

They will assess the department's effectiveness, identify areas of improvement, and implement changes to achieve profitability, sales targets, and overall business goals. The role also contributes strategically by developing company-wide sales strategies, leading sales channels, and achieving revenue and profitability objectives. In addition, the position requires analyzing sales performance, competitors, and market trends to forecast sales and present insights to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong teamwork, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of customer needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

Leadership Role:

  • Lead the sales department as part of the Sales Leadership team, responsible for retaining existing customers, expanding the customer base, and driving sales growth through market penetration strategies, advertising campaigns, and new product offerings.
  • Manage all activities related to sales, operations, customer care, and support systems.
  • Evaluate the department’s effectiveness, identify gaps, and make strategic adjustments to achieve profitability, revenue generation, and business targets.

Strategic Role:

  • Play a key role in shaping and executing company strategies, leading business verticals, sales channels, and services.
  • Drive achievement of the company’s revenue and profitability targets.

Analytical Role:

  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Analyze business performance, sales data, market research, and competitor trends to inform decisions and recommend strategic changes.
  • Set sales targets, monitor progress, and forecast sales performance.
  • Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders and ensure seamless communication between sales and other departments.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education:

    MBA from a Tier 1 Business School is mandatory. Specialization in Sales, Marketing, or Business Strategy is preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 10 years of post-MBA experience in sales leadership roles with a proven record of driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales strategies, market penetration plans, and managing large cross-functional teams.
  • Strong exposure to customer relationship management, sales analytics, and business development in dynamic, competitive markets.
  • Prior experience in real estate, consumer-facing industries, or large-scale B2C/B2B environments will be an advantage.
