Deputy Manager - Safety

Purpose/Objective

Responsible for developing and implementing effective safety strategies, policies, and procedures across mining sites. The primary objective is to achieve Zero incidents by ensuring robust Group Safety Management Systems (SMS), while also ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Central or Site Safety Executive - Mining Safety Management System: Execute Adani group Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) programs across mining sites of BU. Prepare annual safety plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. Develop and maintain a safety training calendar for both Adani and contract employees, ensuring timely completion of safety training programs. Conduct and oversee budget planning and allocation for all safety-related initiatives to ensure adequate resources are available for maintaining and enhancing workplace safety. Ensure effectiveness of Group Safety Governance System which includes Business Safety Council, Taskforce Meetings. Safety MIS Preparation and handholding site teams on SAFEX Modules. Support the implementation of new safety initiatives aimed at enhancing safety effectiveness at the site. Review & monitor Safety KPIs of all sites and send communication to leadership team to ensure timely compliance. Conduct frequent visits at sites Monitor progress of various initiatives ie. GZSP, Cross Site Safety Audit Key Stakeholders - Internal Security TCD team Employees Key Stakeholders - External Vendors Auditors Regulatory Agencies

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: B. Tech in Any Stream Diploma in Industrial Safety, M. Tech in Safety preferably Work Experience (Range of years): 5 - 8 years
