Deputy Manager - Safety

Role Overview: As the Deputy Manager - Safety at Knauf India in Khushkhera, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of the plant by implementing safety plans and activities in compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. You will play a crucial role in managing the Safety Roadmap, preparing safety plans, handling MIS, and contributing to the crisis management committee. Your role will involve understanding risk assessment techniques, incident investigation processes, and ensuring safety integration in contractor selection. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for change and encouraging the adoption of best practices in safety. Key Responsibilities: - Have a good knowledge of all EHS related regulations and legislation, staying informed of changes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. - Manage the Safety Roadmap, be aware of tasks deadlines, and clarify uncertainties with the Plant Manager. - Understand risk assessment techniques, apply them in the area, and take actions based on assessment results. - Prepare safety plans to achieve the safety vision in the area and drive implementation in Khushkhera Plant, Chennai Plant, Warehouses & Offices. - Handle MIS and report to Local & Corporate. - Understand investigation techniques and relevant processes of incident and accident analysis. - Ensure safety is integrated into the selection and use of contractors and contribute to the contractor's safety evaluation process. - Be a member of the Crisis Management Committee and actively participate in crisis planning. - Identify opportunities for change, translate ideas into effective implementation, and encourage the adoption of best practices. - Identify new equipment requirements on plants and submit capex requests. - Have knowledge and hands-on experience about EHS and ISO (9K, 14K, 45K & 50K).
