Job Summary:
The Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Resource Mobilization will identify and acquire new donors, strengthen existing donor relationships, and drive fundraising initiatives to support research and program development. The role will focus on securing funding from corporate CSR, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), with a strong emphasis on new acquisitions. The DGM will lead fundraising strategies, oversee donor engagement, and ensure effective proposal development with the support of an executive-level team member.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy & Donor Acquisition
2. Individual & Institutional Fundraising
Identify and engage HNIs for individual philanthropic contributions.
Establish partnerships with research-focused institutions for sustained funding.
Design and implement campaigns to attract major donors and institutional grants.
3. Donor Engagement & Relationship Management
•
Cultivate, build, and maintain long-term relationships with donors, CSR partners, and philanthropic institutions.
•
Organize donor meetings, site visits, and events to promote transparency and engagement.
•
Maintain donor database and ensure timely reporting and communications.
4. Proposal Development & Grant Management
•
Lead the preparation of compelling concept notes, grant proposals, and donor presentations.
•
Coordinate with program and finance teams to develop budgets and technical inputs for proposals.
•
Ensure compliance with donor requirements and timely submission of reports.
5. Strategic Partnerships & Networking
•
Identify partnership opportunities with corporations, foundations, government bodies, and international agencies.
•
Represent the organization at conferences, CSR forums, donor meetings, and networking events.
6. Team Leadership & Coordination
•
Supervise and mentor resource mobilization team members.
•
Coordinate across departments (programs, M&E, finance) to align fundraising with organizational capacity and goals.

Achievement of annual fundraising targets (CSR, institutional, HNI, etc.)

Number of new donors/partners onboarded
•
Proposal success rate
•
Donor retention and satisfaction rate
•
Timeliness and quality of donor reports
•
Team Management
Qualifications and Experience:
•
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.
•
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, or resource mobilization.
•
Proven track record in securing funding from diverse sources, including institutional donors, the private sector, and philanthropic organizations.
•
Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting for grant-funded projects.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals.
•
Strong negotiation and networking skills.
•
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
•
Proficiency in donor management software and fundraising tools is an asset.
