Job Description

Position: Database Tester

Experience: 4+ Years

Location: ( Gurugram / Bangalore )

Joining: Immediate Joiner

Budget: 11 LPA


Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly competent Database Tester with strong hands-on experience in SQL-based backend testing and Selenium automation for UI validation. The ideal candidate should be capable of designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies for database-intensive applications and web interfaces. You will work closely with QA engineers, developers, and business analysts to ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of our applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Testing:

  • Write and execute complex SQL queries for validating data across multiple tables, views, stored procedures, and ETL processes.
  • Perform data integrity and consistency checks between source systems, staging, and data warehouses.
  • Validate business logic, calculations, and rules implemented at the database level (triggers, stored procedures, functions).
  • Verify end-to-end data flow for applications involving backend processing and reporting layers.
  • Conduct performance and volume testing on large datasets to ensure query efficiency and system scalability.

Selenium Automation:

  • Design and develop Selenium WebDriver scripts to automate test cases for web applications.
  • Integrate automation scripts with TestNG / JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and manage version control using Git.
  • Validate the frontend elements and backend data together in integrated test scenarios.
  • Perform cross-browser and responsive UI testing using tools like Selenium Grid or cloud providers (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
  • Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks for regression and smoke testing.

Testing Lifecycle & Tools:

  • Create and maintain detailed test cases, test data, and test documentation.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum team, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps for CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on Database Testing and Automation.
  • Proficient in SQL: Complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, DDL/DML operations, performance tuning.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver with Java or Python.
  • Working knowledge of automation frameworks like TestNG, Page Object Model (POM), Data-Driven Testing (DDT).
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail).
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and experience in data warehouse testing (preferred).
  • Experience with REST/SOAP API testing using Postman or SoapUI (nice to have).
