Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our tech team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing high-performance MySQL environments, with a strong focus on schema design, clustering, replication, and high availability. Expertise in MySQL schema design is critical to ensure data integrity, optimal performance, and future scalability. The role requires a deep understanding of indexing strategies, normalization principles, and advanced query optimization techniques to maintain fast and efficient database responses. Additional responsibilities include implementing partitioning strategies and collaborating closely with our development and DevOps teams to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and highly available. Key Responsibilities • Design, deploy, and maintain MySQL databases with clustering and replication. • Configure and manage MySQL clusters (e.g., InnoDB Cluster, Galera Cluster) for high availability. • Monitor performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks or issues. • Set up and manage automated backups, failover, and disaster recovery plans. • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and schema designs for performance. • Collaborate with developers to support efficient data structures and queries. • Ensure database security, data integrity, and compliance with best practices. • Maintain clear documentation of configurations, procedures, and topologies. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL DBA, including clustering (InnoDB or Galera). • Deep understanding of MySQL replication (master-slave, master-master). • Strong SQL skills and experience with stored procedures, triggers, and indexing. • Experience with performance tuning and query optimization. • Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting (Bash or Python). • Experience with cloud-hosted MySQL (AWS RDS, Azure Database for MySQL, etc.). Preferred Skills • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Percona Toolkit, PMM, Nagios, Zabbix). • Familiarity with Laravel or Node.js backend integrations. • Exposure to DevOps tools like Ansible, Docker, or Kubernetes. • Understanding of NoSQL or caching solutions (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
