To support this vision, we have established the Group Center of Excellence (CoE) for Advanced Analytics and AI, which focuses on data science, data engineering, cloud platform engineering, and business intelligence. About the role As a Data Science Specialist , you will be a core contributor to Holcim’s global Advanced Analytics CoE. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deploy cutting-edge AI/ML solutions that drive operational excellence and business decision-making. This is an individual contributor role with potential for career progression into people management based on performance and impact. Responsibilities Collaborate with business/domain SMEs to identify opportunities and develop predictive models for key business processes Select and apply suitable machine learning and deep learning algorithms, validate results, and derive actionable insights Work closely with product development teams to industrialize AI/ML models and rapidly prototype minimum viable solutions Conduct exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing to derive business insights Manage end-to-end data science workflows including data acquisition, preprocessing, feature engineering, modeling, and optimization Design and implement generative AI solutions Build and deploy full-stack machine learning pipelines on cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP If required, adapt ML models for edge devices or mobile applications Qualifications Education BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant STEM fields Graduate degree in Data Science or a related quantitative discipline is preferred Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and algebra AWS analytics certification is mandatory Experience 12–15 years of total experience, with at least 8 years in analytics/data science Experience in manufacturing, building materials, process industries, or pharmaceuticals is highly desirable Proven experience designing and deploying generative AI solutions Hands-on expertise in statistical and machine learning techniques Required Skills 8+ years of experience in machine learning and deep learning algorithms: decision trees, random forests, SVMs, regression, clustering, CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, transformers, etc. 6+ years of programming experience in Python, PySpark, or equivalent languages for data manipulation and analysis 5+ years of working with cloud platforms, especially AWS, including experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments Strong knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch Familiarity with business intelligence tools like QlikView and data engineering frameworks is a plus Equal opportunity Holcim is an equal opportunity employer.
