Job Description

Telecom Data Modeler

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze business requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models.
Design and implement enterprise data models for telecom-related domains such as customer, product, billing, usage, and network.
Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and data architects to ensure data models support business needs and performance standards.
Create and maintain metadata and data dictionaries for telecom data assets.
Ensure data model alignment with industry standards (e.g., TM Forum SID, 3GPP).
Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure compliance with data quality and data security policies.
Optimize existing data models to improve performance and scalability.
Support ETL/ELT design and development with clearly defined source-to-target mappings.
Perform data profiling and source system analysis.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience in data modeling with at least 5+ years in the telecom domain.
Strong understanding of telecom BSS/OSS systems (CRM, Billing, Network Provisioning).
Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.
Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Experience designing dimensional and normalized data models (OLTP and OLAP).
Knowledge of data warehousing and big data concepts.
Experience with at least one standard Telecom Industry Data Model
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Understanding of TM Forum standards (SID, eTOM) is an advantage.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
