As a Use Case Governance specialist in the Office of the Chief Data Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Data and AI/ML use case governance projects are efficiently managed following the internal JPMC governing policies, standards, and procedures, while also adhering to the external legal and regulatory frameworks. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the use case owners, project leads, key subject matter experts, and decision-makers across the organization, and driving momentum on projects across the use case development lifecycle to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of submissions and reviews. Job responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent guidance to ensure use case (data and AI/ML) initiatives across the organization are ideated, designed, and implemented in alignment with internal standards, as well as external obligations.
  • Track and implement use case governance frameworks, including reputational risk policies, risk mitigation protocols, and ensure that the internal standards, policies, and procedures are followed in a timely and compliant way.
  • Perform impact analysis, prioritization, and triaging of submitted use cases to ensure all necessary details are documented at the correct tollgates.
  • Monitor use case lifecycle KPIs and inventory risk metrics, prepare monthly reports, and escalate issues to the relevant Councils.
  • Conduct regulatory change impact analysis when required and take a proactive role in remediating any issues.
  • Collaborate with other lines of business on cross-line of business projects, and represent ICB in firmwide functions when required.
  • Review and enhance existing governance models to improve transparency, accountability, and compliance.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and interviews to share knowledge, increase visibility, and to identify governance gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience in AI/ML lifecycle management, data use case management, or data governance project management.
  • Prior experience working in the Office of the CDO in the BFSI industry.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, influence stakeholders, educate, and champion use case governance principles and excellence across the organization.
  • Ability to conduct governance risk assessment related to data and AI/ML use cases, identifying risks, concerns, bottlenecks, and mitigating actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to articulate risks, issues, and actions concisely for CXOs.
  • Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and the EU AI Act.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Protection, Retention and Destruction, and Data Quality.
  • Experience with AWS, SQL, Python, prior experience in data science, or a related field such as data strategy or digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI use cases in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with AI tools or platforms such as Azure AI, AWS Sage Maker.
