Job Title: Data Architect / Lead Data Engineer / Engineering Manager – DataAbout the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Architect / Lead Data Engineer / Engineering Manager with deep expertise in building and scaling data platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in data engineering, backend development, leadership, and architecture, and has successfully driven data strategy in high-growth product companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5+ Data Engineers, ensuring performance, learning, and career growth.
• Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient data infrastructure from the ground up.
• Define and execute the data roadmap in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Develop and optimize data processing workflows for high throughput and cost efficiency.
• Drive data governance, quality, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, etc.).
• Ensure data security and manage large-scale, distributed data systems.
• Promote a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and ownership across the team.
• Translate business needs into technical strategy aligned with growth objectives.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience (1): 10+ years in Data Engineering roles, with 2+ years in a Leadership role.
• Experience (2): 7+ years of hands-on backend development using Java (highly preferred) or Python / Node.js / GoLang.
• Experience (3): Recent 4+ years in high-growth Product Startups, implementing data systems from early stages.
• Experience (4): Strong expertise in big data tools & technologies (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Presto, etc.).
• Experience (5): Proven expertise in High-Level & Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) for scalable architectures.
• Team Management: Hands-on leadership of 5+ Data Engineers.
• Education: Tier-1 Engineering Colleges (IITs preferred).
• Company Background: Experience in B2B Product Companies with high data traffic.

Technical Skills

• Backend Development: Java, Python, Node.js, GoLang (additional exposure to PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS is a plus).
• Data Processing & Analytics: SQL, Python, Scala.
• Big Data & Distributed Systems: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow, Hive.
• Cloud Platforms: AWS / GCP / Azure with strong knowledge of their data services.
• Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery.
• Databases: SQL + NoSQL (Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB, TiDB).
• Architecture & Design: HLD/LLD, design patterns, Spring Boot, Google Guice.
• DevOps/Automation: Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, Grafana, ELK.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure / MLOps.
• Exposure to real-time data processing and event-driven systems.
• Strong interest in data structures, algorithms, scalable architecture, and multicore programming.
• Prior experience in SaaS or high-growth tech companies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹7,000,000.00 - ₹9,000,000.00 per year
