Role Overview:
We are looking for a Technical Trainer / Instructional Design Specialist who can rapidly craft curriculum outlines that convert quickly to training and videos. You’ll research and flesh out curricula, define learning outcomes, storyboard slides, and design lab specifications. Where certifications are involved - You’ll ensure level-appropriateness aligned to certifications and, when needed, take the certifications to validate level accuracy. For all training you will need to take the appropriate role into account: For example is the training for a specific role as in is this for : Linux system administrator, DevOps Engineer, Containerization engineer., SRE, Platform engineer, Cloud Engineer AWS, Azure or Google, Developer (Python, Go Lang, Rust etc)

What you will do:
- Research and craft a learning path for a new technology track .
- Research and craft courses for a new technology; define course objectives and launch priorities with your manager.
- Break down complex topics in Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, Cloud Computing, and emerging technologies into clear and accessible content, that enable learners to easily grasp advanced concepts and apply them effectively.
- Create high-level course plans and detailed curricula: modules, topics, measurable learning objectives, and Bloom’s levels.
- Develop and deliver high-quality learning materials within established deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects and initiatives.
- Produce implementation-ready deliverables: course outlines, slide storyboards/draft decks, lab specifications (objectives, environment, steps, validation, cleanup), and assessment plans.
- Ensure alignment to certification blueprints and real-world job tasks; calibrate difficulty and scaffold learning.
- Partner with Senior Trainers/SMEs, Labs Manager, Designer, and Video Editor to deliver high-quality courses on schedule.
- Participate in daily syncs and weekly reviews; provide progress reports; incorporate pilot feedback and learner analytics to iterate quickly.
- Maintain version control via Git and adhere to style and accessibility guidelines; keep courses updated post-launch.
- Participate in daily sync calls and provide progress reports
- Participate in weekly training sessions evaluating work processes and blockers.
- Review of other trainers slides and content providing feedback and suggesting improvements
- Attend bi weekly 1:1’s with manager and weekly peer meetings.
- Maintain courses after launch - including content updates, and general course improvements.
You’re a great fit if you:
- Practitioner-level knowledge in : Linux, containers/Kubernetes, DevOps toolchains (CI/CD, IaC) and Artificial Intelligence(AI), At least one of the following: cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), security fundamentals.
- Enjoy learning new technologies and explaining what you have learned to others in simple relatable terms in a story like fashion.
- Markdown/docs-as-code, Git/GitHub, and diagramming tools.
- Have the ability to flesh out the skills needed within this technology and craft them into lab exercises that teach and validate these skills. Lab design capability: environment specs, success criteria, validation scripts, negative paths, time/cost estimates.
- Willingness to pursue and, if needed, sit further certifications (e.g., Golden Kubestronaut, AWS/Azure/GCP, Linux) to validate level and scope.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate research and drafting.
- Standardize templates: curriculum outlines, lab specs, rubrics, and review checklists shared across QA and ID roles.
- Automate checks: link/style linters, CLI/version drift alerts, and basic lab smoke tests in CI.
- Feedback loops: integrate learner analytics and post-launch QA findings into the next design sprint.
Bonus points:
- If you have been creating or delivering training
- If you have experience in Instructional design methods: backward design/ADDIE, job-task analysis, writing measurable objectives, difficulty scaffolding, assessment strategy.
- Blueprint coverage and Bloom’s level checks.
- Proficiency with slides (PowerPoint/Google Slides),
