Job Description

The COO will serve as the top executive leader, responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategic vision, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, technological leadership, and long-term financial growth. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, experience working with defense ministries and regulatory agencies, and the leadership acumen to drive innovation in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies in alignment with the board's vision and government objectives.
  • Drive innovation in aerospace, defense systems, R&D, and next-Generation technologies (e.g., AI, UAVs, avionics, missiles, etc.).
  • Represent the company with key stakeholders including government bodies, defense contractors, international partners, and regulatory agencies.

Operational & Financial Oversight

  • Oversee operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational KPIs.
  • Manage risk across defense contracts, exports, and high-stakes R&D initiatives.

Government & Regulatory Affairs

  • Maintain strong relationships with the Ministry of Defence, DRDO, armed forces, and international defense agencies.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with national and international defense regulations, ITAR, export controls, and cyber security frameworks.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Lead strategic partnerships, M&A initiatives, and global expansion efforts.
  • Secure and manage defense contracts, tenders, and long-term government engagements.
  • Build alliances with OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners.

Organizational Leadership

  • Inspire and lead a high-performance executive team across engineering, R&D, production, and operations.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and integrity.
  • Lead talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in defense, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing (preferably as a CXO, MD, or SVP).
  • Proven success in managing government/defense contracts and engaging with armed forces or strategic agencies.
  • Strong understanding of defense procurement, international compliance (e.g., ITAR, BIS, DGCA, DRDO norms), and export control regimes.
  • Engineering, defense, or technical background; MBA or defense college (e.g., NDC, DSSC) credentials preferred.
  • Bachelors of Electronics
