Role Overview
We are seeking a talented
Conversational Designer
to create engaging, intuitive, and scalable conversational experiences across
chatbots, virtual assistants, and omnichannel conversational interfaces
. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio of voice/text-based conversational flows, deep knowledge of user-centered design, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver impactful, human-centered solutions—particularly in healthcare and other complex industries.
Essential Responsibilities
- Gather technical and product-specific requirements, design conversational flows, create prototypes, and deliver scalable chatbot and virtual assistant experiences.
- Contribute to conversational UI, interactions, and visual tone, ensuring alignment with brand and content principles.
- Use data-driven insights and user interactions to propose content changes that balance user needs, business goals, and expert recommendations.
- Collaborate across teams to address complex healthcare challenges using human-centered design thinking and impactful storytelling.
- Deliver user needs analyses with clearly defined workflows to inform development and system architecture.
- Partner with research and insight teams to assess user behavior and language, uncover hidden needs, and summarize insights for continuous improvement.
- Act as a champion of Conversation Design, driving cultural adoption and reimagining customer experiences across multiple channels.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business and user experience goals.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in conversational design, UX writing, or interaction design, managing multiple projects of varying complexity.
- Understanding of natural language technologies, APIs, and conversational tech stacks, with the ability to design within current capabilities and limitations.
- Solid knowledge of user experience research and design methodologies.
- Experience with conversation design tools, frameworks, and metrics to improve CXD adoption and user outcomes.
- Strong organization, self-management, and Agile project execution skills.
- Skilled in design thinking exercises and human-centered facilitation methods to solve complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present effectively to cross-functional teams and leadership.
Experience Required
- 5 years: Strong portfolio with conversational flows (voice and/or text) showing user task completion and digital interface design (mobile apps, responsive web, etc.).
- 1 year: Technical knowledge of conversational design fundamentals, demonstrated experience with chat/virtual assistant design.
- 1 year: Proven communication skills (grammar, tone, style) across different channels and brand voices.
Preferred Experience
- 1 year: Designing conversational experiences in regulated industries (Healthcare, Finance, Telecom, Insurance, etc.).
- 1 year: Experience designing for accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive experiences.
- 1 year: Strong facilitation and consensus-building skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
- 1 year: Experience in localization/multi-lingual conversational design.

- Must be a quick learner, adaptable to new technologies and frameworks.
- Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work across large, diverse teams.
