Job Description

Core Technical Skills

9-12+ years of experience with IBM i / AS400 systems
Expert-level proficiency in RPG, RPGLE (Free and Fixed), CL, CLLE
Strong expertise in DB2/400, SQL, performance tuning, and indexing
Experience with IBM i system administration concepts (jobs, subsystems, libraries, security)
Hands-on experience with debugging, profiling, and performance optimization

Integration and Modernization

Experience integrating IBM i with Java, .NET, web applications, or cloud platforms
Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, FTP/SFTP
Exposure to IBM i modernization tools and strategies

Tools and Methodologies

Experience with change management and version control tools (Aldon, TurnOver, Git)
Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps practices

Nice-to-Have

Experience in automobile, banking, insurance, manufacturing, or retail domains
Knowledge of UI modernization tools (WebSphere, Node.js, React, etc.)
IBM certifications related to IBM i / RPG

Qualification

Create technical specifications, write program specifications, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using CICS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2
Collaborate with the team in delivering all necessary components
Perform code reviews, solve issues if any, and support in code red situations
Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and best practices
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to developers in the team

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and support the team lead in various delivery activities
