Role Overview
A Salesforce Consultant, often acting as a Business Analyst, serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical implementation team. They are responsible for understanding client needs, translating them into detailed requirements, and configuring Salesforce to meet those requirements. This role focuses on optimizing business processes through declarative configuration, ensuring user adoption, and driving value from the Salesforce platform.
Key Responsibilities
•Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through various elicitation techniques.
•Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for Salesforce configuration.
•Configure Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or other relevant clouds using declarative tools.
•Design and implement process automation using Flow and Process Builder.
•Create and optimize reports, dashboards, and list views to provide actionable insights.
•Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage defect resolution.
•Provide end-user training and create user documentation to facilitate adoption.
•Collaborate with developers for custom solutions and integrations.
•Support data migration activities and ensure data quality.
•Act as a subject matter expert for Salesforce functionality and best practices.
Technical Skills (Required)
•Salesforce Declarative Configuration: Mastery of standard objects, custom objects, fields, relationships, page layouts, record types, profiles, permission sets.
•Process Automation: Proficient in Salesforce Flow and Process Builder for complex business logic.
•Reporting & Dashboards: Strong ability to create custom reports, dashboards, and analytical views.
•Data Management: Experience with Data Loader for imports, exports, and updates.
•Requirements Gathering: Proven skills in interviewing, workshop facilitation, and documenting requirements (user stories, process flows).
Technical Skills (Desirable)
•Project Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies.
•Basic SQL/SOQL: Understanding of database concepts and ability to write simple queries.
•Integration Concepts: Awareness of common integration patterns and API basics.
•Change Management: Understanding of user adoption strategies and training best practices.
•Specific Cloud Knowledge: Deeper knowledge of specific clouds beyond core admin (e.g., CPQ, Field Service).
Tools & Technologies (Desirable)
•Salesforce UI: Salesforce Setup Menu, Lightning App Builder.
•Documentation & Collaboration: Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Lucidchart/Visio.
•Data Tools: Salesforce Data Loader, Workbench.
•Communication Tools: Slack, Microsoft Teams.
Soft Skills (Required)
•Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to break down complex problems and identify root causes.
•Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and technical teams.
•Problem-Solving: Resourceful and effective in finding solutions to business challenges within Salesforce.
Soft Skills (Desirable)

Relevant Industry Experience
• 2-7+ years of experience in Salesforce administration or functional consulting roles.
•Participation in at least 1-2 full lifecycle Salesforce implementation projects.
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
