Role Overview

We are looking for a

Community Engagement Intern

to help shape and grow the

UpStar Community

both online and offline and build a hub for discussions, insights, and learning around cloud and cybersecurity careers in

MENA and SEA

.In this

3-month remote internship

, you'll work closely with the product and marketing teams to design and execute community strategies that bring UpStars mission to life building conversations around

career acceleration, skills intelligence, and guided learning journeys

.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture the UpStar online community (LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord etc.) and establish relationships with key partners (universities, educational organizations).
  • Initiate and moderate conversations focused on career development in cybersecurity and cloud roles.
  • Identify trending topics, certifications, and discussions relevant to early-career professionals in MENA & SEA.
  • Create engaging content to communicate UpStars value, including community-driven campaigns (polls, content series) and outreach materials (blogs, infographics, videos, presentations), in collaboration with Product & Growth teams.
  • Engage community members (mentors, professionals, learners) through Q&A threads and AMAs, while also initiating contact with potential partners by conducting meetings (online and in-person) to present opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners, providing necessary materials to support and strengthen long-term collaboration.
  • Collect community feedback and insights to help improve UpStar's user engagement and product experience.
  • Track engagement metrics and propose creative ideas to enhance participation, retention, and partner collaboration.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; Arabic or Bahasa is a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships.
  • Comfortable reaching out to and presenting to potential partners, both online and in person.
  • Passionate about career development, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of how online communities grow and sustain engagement.
  • Familiarity with tools like LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, Notion, or Hootsuite.
  • Creative, organized, and proactive with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
