Role Overview

The Community Development Officer will serve as a bridge between the organization and the community. The role involves community engagement, awareness building, volunteer mobilization, and supporting political campaigns with a focus on social services. The ideal candidate will be a people-oriented professional with strong communication skills, passion for public service, and an ability to build trust within diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

Build, strengthen, and sustain relationships with community leaders, local influencers, NGOs, and volunteers.Organize and facilitate community meetings, events, and outreach programs to raise awareness on political and social issues.Support political campaigning activities, including door-to-door outreach, voter engagement, rallies, and digital mobilization.Identify local community needs, concerns, and priorities, and communicate them to campaign leadership for actionable strategies.Mobilize and train volunteers to actively participate in social service projects and political initiatives.Develop and distribute awareness materials (print, digital, and social media content) in coordination with campaign teams.Collect feedback, prepare reports, and monitor the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.Develop and distribute awareness materials (print, digital, and social media content) in coordination with campaign teams.Collect feedback, prepare reports, and monitor the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.Ensure all community engagement activities align with the organization’s values, compliance standards, and campaign goals.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage with diverse groups of people and build trust at the grassroots level.Experience in community organizing, political campaigning, social work, or NGO projects preferred.Strategic thinking with problem-solving ability and adaptability.Comfortable with public speaking, leading group discussions, and managing field activities.Basic knowledge of digital campaigning and social media outreach is an advantage.Fluency in local language(s) and working knowledge of English.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field.2–4 years of experience in community engagement, political campaigns, or social service programs (freshers with strong volunteer experience may also be considered).
