About The Role
As a Commodity Specialist – NPI Project Management, you will be a key contributor to our supply chain team, responsible for managing sourcing activities, supporting commodity strategies, and ensuring timely execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. You will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure high quality, cost-effective, and risk-mitigated supply of mechanical and electronic components.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for sourcing activities related to assigned NPI projects
- Ensure sourcing deliverables such as Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Service (QDC&S) are met for all assigned programs
- Actively contribute to NPI project planning and timeline alignment
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure sourcing processes and project milestones are followed
- Manage product cost at the Bill of Materials (BOM) level across all commodities for assigned NPI projects
- Mitigate sourcing risks including End-of-Life (EOL), Not Recommended for New Design (NRND), globalization, and single-source dependencies
- Support NPI sourcing needs for both mechanical and electronic components
- Perform capacity planning and reduce single-source risks during the early NPI phase
- Represent Enphase’s sourcing interests in supplier discussions and develop partnerships aligned with our investment plans
- Work with internal technical experts to identify and select candidate suppliers based on commodity strategies
- Lead commercial activities including RFI/RFQ processes and cost negotiations
- Perform commodity management functions in coordination with engineering and other departments for NPI programs
- Collaborate with global commodity managers and experts to drive sourcing decisions based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Stay updated on market pricing trends and evaluate competitive dynamics in the supply landscape
- Define key cost drivers, establish should-cost models, and work with engineering teams on design-to-cost targets
- Act as the escalation point for any delivery, quality, or supplier issues related to assigned commodities
- Coordinate with global commodity teams to define and implement sourcing strategies throughout the NPI lifecycle
- Proactively identify sourcing risks and develop mitigation plans from concept through product launch
- Contribute to supplier scorecards and business reviews by identifying improvement opportunities and tracking corrective actions
- Align supplier technology roadmaps with Enphase’s future requirements through ongoing market and trend analysis
- Foster innovation by developing suppliers capable of delivering new technologies aligned with Enphase product roadmaps
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal product and development teams to guide strategic supplier decisions
Who You Are And What You Bring
- Minimum of a BE degree (preferably in Engineering); ME or MBA is a plus
- At least 1 year of experience in NPI, global commodity management, manufacturing, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with assigned commodities (mechanical or electronics) is preferred
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of cost drivers and sourcing strategies
- Proven ability to manage and close cross-functional projects successfully
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder influencing skills
- Self-motivated, positive, and proactive with a strong “can-do” attitude
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovation-driven environment
