Position Title: Commis 1

Location: Irish Sandwich Cafe, Hyderabad Airport

Reports To: Chef De Partie / Sous Chef

Position Summary:

The Commis 1 at Irish Sandwich Cafe, a take-away concept located at Hyderabad Airport, is responsible for preparing and cooking food items to the highest standards, supporting the Chef De Partie and kitchen team in maintaining an efficient kitchen operation. This role involves ensuring the quality and presentation of food, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and assisting in kitchen inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking: Assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items as per the cafe’s recipes and standards. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and consistency. Follow portion control guidelines and minimize waste.

Kitchen Support: Support the Chef De Partie and other senior kitchen staff in daily kitchen operations. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and storing food items. Prepare sandwiches, salads, rice bowls and other menu items as required.

Quality Control: Ensure that all food items are prepared and presented according to the cafe’s quality standards. Conduct regular checks on the quality and presentation of dishes. Address any discrepancies in food preparation and presentation promptly.

Hygiene and Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of food items to prevent contamination.

Inventory and Stock Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock of ingredients and supplies. Help with the ordering and receiving of deliveries, checking for quality and quantity. Manage the storage and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

Equipment and Utensil Management: Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned, maintained, and used properly. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Chef De Partie.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide support as needed. Participate in team meetings and contribute to menu development and improvements.

Learning and Development: Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge by learning from senior kitchen staff. Attend training sessions and workshops as required to enhance culinary techniques and knowledge.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
