The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.
In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.
In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of Cluster Supervisor for DAV School, Pallikaranai
Job Description
To oversee, coordinate, and manage all administrative functions of the school , ensuring smooth operations, upkeep of facilities, compliance, resource management, and that civil/infrastructure tasks are handled effectively. The role ensures that all administrative systems are efficient, safe, and conducive to the welfare of students, staff, and visitors.
Requisites
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Alternatively, a degree in Business Administration / Facility Management with sound exposure is acceptable.
Experience:

Minimum 5‑7 years of experience in administrative or operations role, particularly involving facility / infrastructure / civil works oversight.

Prior supervisory / managerial experience is required.
Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of civil / building works, maintenance practices, safety standards, regulations.

Project management skills: ability to plan, execute, monitor infrastructure projects.

Good budgeting, cost estimation skills.

Ability to manage vendors, contracts.
-
Proficiency with standard office software (Excel, Word), facility management or maintenance tracking tools.

Organized, detail‑oriented, proactive.
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills.Leadership and ability to manage non‑teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
-
Supervise and coordinate civil / infrastructure maintenance across the schools in the cluster (buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, safety systems).

Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for facilities.

Ensure compliance with safety, fire, labour, building regulations and statutory requirements.

Oversee operations such as transportation (buses, routes), housekeeping, sanitation, security, grounds management.

Manage procurement of non‑academic supplies, assets, equipment, and maintain inventory.

Coordinate facility management: cleaning, waste management, landscaping, water supply, power backup, etc.

Supervise administrative / support staff (security, housekeeping, reception etc.), assign tasks, monitor performance.

Ensure assets are used optimally, identify cost savings, reduce wastage.

Conduct regular audits and inspections of physical infrastructure, safety provisions (fire extinguishers, emergency exits etc.).

Prepare and maintain records of maintenance, repairs, safety drills, inspections.

Work closely with school heads / principals to schedule maintenance works to minimize disruption.

Maintain records, generate reports on administrative performance of cluster (infrastructure status, maintenance backlogs, expenditures etc.) for senior management.

Hire / supervise support / facility staff & to define roles / responsibilities, ensure training in safety, operations protocols etc.

Establish, review and improve administrative policies, procedures, workflows related to facility / infrastructure management.

Maintain systems for documentation, filing, asset register, equipment logs etc.
Salary shall commensurate with experience & calibre.
