Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our Snowflake Data Cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Snowflake administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency of data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Snowflake Administration: Manage Snowflake accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads to ensure efficient execution.
• Data Management: Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines in Snowflake.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
• Automation: Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Cost Optimization: Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.
• Upgrades & Maintenance: Apply patches, monitor Snowflake updates, and ensure minimal downtime.
• Integration: Support integrations with ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Documentation & Governance: Maintain detailed documentation of Snowflake configurations, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 2+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, Resource Monitors, Tasks, Streams.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrations.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
• Knowledge of data security & governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools.
• Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk, or other monitoring tools.
• Hands-on experience in DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics workloads on Snowflake.
