Role of Department

The European Multinational Programs Claims team is responsible for the oversight, management, and technical expertise of claims arising from multinational insurance programs across Europe. The Claims Multinational Program Specialist will act as the central claims expert and single point of contact for all multinational claims, ensuring protocols are followed, management information is gathered and reported, and claims are handled in accordance with master policy terms and local law requirements.

This role reports to the Head of Claims for Europe and has a dotted line responsibility to the European Multinational Program Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary expert and single point of contract for multinational claims across Europe, providing guidance and support to local claims handlers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all claims are managed in accordance with established multinational program protocols, including referral to master policy terms when required.
  • Maintain oversight of claims across jurisdictions to ensure consistent application of the master policy, compliance with applicable local laws and regulatory claims requirements, and adherence to claims handling best practice.
  • Oversee operational delivery: manage escalations and disputes, supervise panel adjusters and third party providers, and enforce SLAs, quality standards and cost controls.
  • Gather, analyze, and report claims data and management information for multinational programs, to support business intelligence, trend analysis and decision-making.
  • Ensure all claims financials (reserves, payment, recoveries) are booked correctly and in a timely manner, coordinating with Finance, Operations, and local teams.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (brokers, clients, local claims teams, and the Multinational Europe Team)
  • Provide training and technical support to local claims handlers on multinational program framework and master policy interpretation.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to the Head of Claims for Europe and the Head of Multinational Europe.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, data protection rule? and conduct risk standards across jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of claims processes, protocols, SLAs, and KPIs for multinational programs and lessons learned to drive enhancements.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Legal, Tax, Reinsurance, Finance, brokers and clients; represent claims in steering/ oversights committees and support contingency and rating trigger plans.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in insurance claims, with a strong focus on multinational/cross-border programs claims handling.
  • Deep knowledge of multinational program structures, master/ FoS master policy, policy wordings and local policy coordination (cession/ assignment implications), Co-and Reinsurance
  • Strong claims financial capability (reserving, payments, recoveries) and familiarity with booking/finance interfaces
  • Advanced analytical skills, and strong claims management information and reporting experience (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Comfortable producing executive reports, trends analysis and actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across regions.
  • Experience managing escalations, dispute resolution and governance forums, vendor/ panel adjuster oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial and claims data.
  • Proactive problem-solver who drives continuous improvement and works independently as well as in teams.
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Initiative-taking, dynamic, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
