Claims Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Handling & Coordination

• Oversee end-to-end claims process for all lines of business (Health, Motor, Property, Liability, Marine, etc.)—from intimation to settlement.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients and insurance companies to ensure fair, timely, and accurate claim outcomes.
• Review, validate, and submit claims documentation for both retail and group/corporate policies.

Investigation and negotiations

• Conducting thorough investigations by contacting claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information about the incident and assess the extent of damages.
• Negotiating settlement amounts with claimants or their representatives, especially in complex or disputed cases.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Provide guidance and support to clients during stressful claims situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Coordinate with internal account managers, underwriters, surveyors, and TPAs for smooth claim resolution.
• Educate clients on claims processes, documentation requirements, and grievance mechanisms.

Operations

• Maintain claims registers, status reports, and claims MIS for management review.
• Implement SOPs to standardize claims handling and improve turnaround times.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and internal risk controls.
• Monitor high-value or suspicious claims for fraud risk and escalate where necessary.
• Support audit processes and maintain accurate records for internal and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory)
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in insurance claims management
• Sound understanding of various insurance products across life and non-life segments.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel reporting, and insurance software/claims platforms.

Compensation:

As per industry standards based on experience and qualifications.
