Job Description

We are Planswell Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd. (Promoted by a group of Chartered Accountants and Lawyers). We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Claims Manager to lead and manage the claims function across individual and corporate insurance lines in our insurance broking firm. The role is critical to ensuring efficient claims processing, superior customer service, regulatory compliance, and strong insurer relations. Key Responsibilities: Claims Handling & Coordination Oversee end-to-end claims process for all lines of business (Health, Motor, Property, Liability, Marine, etc.)—from intimation to settlement. Act as the primary liaison between clients and insurance companies to ensure fair, timely, and accurate claim outcomes. Review, validate, and submit claims documentation for both retail and group/corporate policies. Investigation and negotiations Conducting thorough investigations by contacting claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information about the incident and assess the extent of damages. Negotiating settlement amounts with claimants or their representatives, especially in complex or disputed cases. Client & Stakeholder Management Provide guidance and support to clients during stressful claims situations with empathy and professionalism. Coordinate with internal account managers, underwriters, surveyors, and TPAs for smooth claim resolution. Educate clients on claims processes, documentation requirements, and grievance mechanisms. Operations Maintain claims registers, status reports, and claims MIS for management review. Implement SOPs to standardize claims handling and improve turnaround times. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and internal risk controls. Monitor high-value or suspicious claims for fraud risk and escalate where necessary. Support audit processes and maintain accurate records for internal and regulatory reporting. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (mandatory) Minimum 5-8 years of experience in insurance claims management Sound understanding of various insurance products across life and non-life segments. Proficient in MS Office, Excel reporting, and insurance software/claims platforms. Key Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability Client-centric approach with high attention to detail Ability to handle pressure and multitask across large volumes Familiarity with IRDAI regulations and industry codes of practice Compensation: As per industry standards based on experience and qualifications.
