Civil Design Engineer (Solar)

Responsibilities:

• Power plant design packages for individual PV projects, including drawings, specifications, and calculations for use in securing all construction permits and supporting all construction activities.
• Scoping and providing support for DC collection system. commissioning and energization tasks, including assisting in the management of local contractor's plant startup process.
• Responsible for system performance modeling, drawing standards, key component specifications, sizing calculations, bills of materials, etc., as necessary to ensure that Mecpower Solutions design package meets all company requirements for quality, presentation standards, and cost- effectiveness Lead project design.
• To optimize project designs by drawing upon your knowledge of PV module and inverter specifications, tracking and fixed- tilt array designs, and other low and high voltage DC components and sizing methods including their specifications, cost, efficiency, code compliance, performance, and reliability.

Requirements: Bachelor s / Master s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• At least three 2 years’ professional experience in PV/ Renewable Energy project design Proficient with AutoCAD, Sketch up software packages.
• Prior experience managing teams, individuals and resources to deliver turn- key projects within schedule and budget.
• Must demonstrate strong engineering, design, communication skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think outside the box and solve traditional problems in creative ways.
• In- depth knowledge of photovoltaic and power system components and sizing methods including their specifications, cost, efficiency, code compliance, performance and reliability.
• In- depth knowledge of safety features, grounding, disconnects, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), system testing, and troubleshooting Project Management experience with experience in managing multiple projects while working under tight deadlines.
• Must be self- motivated, extremely thorough, have excellent organizational skills and professional integrity. Must communicate effectively in both written and verbal mediums, to internal and external customers.
• Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative, non- hierarchical environment that requires ownership of results.
