Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations & Monitoring

  • Proactively monitor Citrix XenApp environments (server health, session delivery, published applications) using SolarWinds and other client-preferred tools
  • Perform daily health/status checks, manage basic performance issues, and produce regular operations reports
  • Incident Triage & Resolution (L1/L2)

  • Respond to and resolve end-user issues relating to login, session access, published application performance, and printer/device access using established runbooks
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues according to client-defined tiers and procedures
  • Citrix Administration

  • Publish and update business-critical applications via the Citrix management console
  • Manage user/group access, permissions, and published application assignment as business needs evolve
  • Apply patches/hotfixes, coordinate minor Citrix server/application upgrades, and participate in planned change activities
  • Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of Citrix configurations, change logs, access management, and troubleshooting steps
  • Contribute to regular status updates and usage/performance reporting for client review
  • Coordination & Escalation

  • Interface with the client IT team and designated L3/Citrix vendor support to escalate advanced or platform-level issues, following defined procedures
  • Support business continuity and DR drills as required within L1/L2 boundaries

Required Skills & Experience

  • Years of hands-on Citrix administration experience

    (Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop; application publishing, user/session support, troubleshooting)
  • Strong understanding of Citrix user/group management, printer/device configuration, and NetScaler/ADC access basics
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools

    (SolarWinds preferred) to proactively manage Citrix environment health and performance
  • Track record of resolving tickets at L1/L2 level—proven troubleshooting for user access, application assignment, and basic infra performance issues
  • Familiarity with standard ITSM/ticketing platforms and change management processes
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and client-communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-vendor or client-integrated delivery environment

Preferred/Bonus Skills

  • Exposure to certificate/license renewal in Citrix contexts
  • Familiarity with application- or infrastructure-level patching/upgrades
  • Knowledge of basic DR planning within a Citrix environment
