Job Description

Location:

Nisarg Foundation, a pioneering non-profit organisation, is expanding into the early childhood education sector with the establishment of unique playschools in Delhi. Unlike conventional schools, our playschools will be holistic spaces where children are nurtured not only through academics but also through life skills, personality development, sports, art, communication, gender sensitivity, and more. We are committed to creating environments where children feel most comfortable, valued, and inspired to grow into compassionate, confident, and capable human beings.

Position Summary

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall vision, strategy, and roadmap for Nisarg’s playschools initiative.
  • Identify and adopt best-in-class models of early childhood learning, life skills, and holistic child development.
  • Establish playschools in Delhi from scratch, including infrastructure, curriculum design, staff recruitment, and operational policies.
  • Build and lead a strong team of educators, administrators, and support staff.
  • Integrate education with life skills, sports, arts, communication, emotional intelligence, and gender sensitivity.
  • Develop a child-first environment where creativity, inclusivity, and joy are at the core.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, CSR partners, education experts, and community leaders to strengthen the initiative.
  • Represent Nisarg’s playschools in public forums, networks, and partnerships.
  • Set measurable KPIs to monitor impact, growth, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with child safety standards, inclusivity norms, and educational quality benchmarks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred: specialisation in CSR, education leadership, or early childhood education).
  • 10+ years of proven experience in education leadership, CSR-based projects, or managing large-scale child-centric initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, life skills integration, and progressive educational models.
  • Experience in building institutions from scratch—handling strategy, operations, and people management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and partnership-building skills.

Personal Attributes

  • Visionary with a deep passion for child development and education innovation.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale new projects.
  • Empathetic, inclusive, and committed to nurturing the next generation of changemakers.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

What We Offer

  • An opportunity to design and shape a first-of-its-kind playschool model in India.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven environment with high autonomy.
  • Competitive compensation and long-term growth opportunities within Nisarg Foundation’s ecosystem.
