Job Title: Channel Sales Engineer

Key Roles & Responsibilities:


1. Proposal Development & Enquiry Handling

  • Carry out preliminary analysis of customer enquiries for feasibility and scope alignment.
  • Prepare optimum costing for proposed systems, referencing past executed orders and maintaining proper cost backups.
  • Prepare and submit detailed techno-commercial offers with well-defined scope of supply in line with customer requirements.
  • Attend technical meetings (case-to-case basis) to position solutions and clarify offer-related queries.

2. Vendor & Supplier Coordination

  • Float enquiries to relevant suppliers for offer support and technical backups.
  • Validate vendor quotations for technical compliance, cost accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.

3. Order Processing & Internal Approvals

  • Approve ERP orders only after confirming clarity in scope/specifications and completeness of pricing, delivery, and documentation.
  • Conduct Order Transfer Meetings (OTM) for large-value projects with all stakeholders.
  • Provide necessary cost calculations, vendor offers, and proposal backups to execution teams.

4. Customer & Execution Support

  • Obtain customer approvals for changes such as alternate makes, scope additions/deletions, or changes affecting delivery/cost.
  • Support detailed engineering teams during order execution to resolve scope ambiguities or deviations against contract.
  • Coordinate with sales during project execution to ensure smooth handover and customer satisfaction.


Critical Competencies for the position:


a) Functional Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of basic engineering principles for Bag Filters, Dust Collectors, ESPs, and Scrubbers.
  • Understanding of applications in steel, cement, boiler, pharma, and food industries.
  • Proficiency in preparing and presenting technical and commercial proposals.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to optimize costing.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and vendor coordination.
