Position Overview

The CFS Head is responsible for end-to-end management of the Container Freight Station at Gandhidham, ensuring seamless operations, strong stakeholder coordination, regulatory compliance, and commercial growth. The role demands leadership in operations, customer service, revenue optimization, cost control, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management

• Oversee daily CFS operations including import, export, stuffing, de-stuffing, storage, dispatch, yard management, and documentation.
• Ensure optimal resource planning: manpower, equipment, trailers, forklifts, reach stackers, etc.
• Maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and turnaround time (TAT).
• Implement SOPs and ensure continuous process improvement.

2. Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to Customs Act, SEZ regulations (if applicable), port guidelines, and government notifications.
• Coordinate with Customs officials for examinations, sealing, scanning, RMS, assessments, and compliance audits.
• Monitor bonded warehouse operations, cargo security, and statutory records.

3. Commercial & Business Development

• Drive volume growth for import/export cargo through business development with shipping lines, forwarders, CHAs, transporters, and exporters/importers.
• Achieve revenue and profit targets for the CFS.
• Negotiate commercial contracts, handle rate proposals, and maintain customer relationships.
• Identify new business opportunities and improve market reach in the Kandla–Gandhidham region.

4. Customer Service Management

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by offering timely cargo updates, resolving issues, and maintaining service quality.
• Manage customer escalations and ensure quick corrective actions.
• Build strong relationships with key customers and trade partners.

5. Financial & Cost Management

• Prepare operational budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost efficiency.
• Track P&L performance and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure accurate billing, credit control, and revenue realization.

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and guide teams across operations, documentation, yard, transport, customs coordination, and sales.
• Conduct performance reviews, training programs, and skill development sessions.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

7. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with port authorities, shipping lines, transporters, surveyors, and other government bodies.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance, IT systems, security, and facility management.
• Represent the CFS in trade bodies and industry forums.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate/Post-Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 10–20 years of experience in CFS/ICD/Port operations, with at least 5-8 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of customs processes, EXIM logistics, container operations, and compliance norms.
• Commercial acumen with P&L management experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
