Overview:

The Cashier will be responsible for handling all cash transactions at the container depot accurately and efficiently. This role ensures proper recording, reconciliation, and reporting of cash activities in alignment with depot operations and company accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all incoming and outgoing cash transactions related to depot operations.
• Issue receipts, collect payments, and verify transaction accuracy.
• Record each cash transaction in the designated system or logbook, ensuring it corresponds to the correct operational activity 
• Maintain an organized record of daily transactions for audit and reporting purposes.
• Reconcile cash balances daily and prepare cash summaries for submission to the Accounting and Finance teams.
• Coordinate with depot operations, accounting, and finance staff to ensure all cash records align with operational data.
• Safeguard cash and ensure adherence to company cash-handling policies.
• Support internal audits and assist in resolving any cash discrepancies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in cash handling, cashiering, or similar financial roles.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of accounting or bookkeeping procedures.
• Strong integrity and sense of responsibility.
• Proficient in basic computer applications (Excel or point-of-sale/cash systems).
• Good communication and coordination skills.
