The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, administration, optimization, and support of both cloud-based services and traditional SQL Server databases, including SSIS and SSRS components. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure (GCP & Azure): Provision and manage virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components in GCP and Azure. Implement and maintain cloud-based services such as Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL, and Data Factory or equivalent pipelines. Apply IAM policies, firewall rules, and encryption settings to secure cloud assets. Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-effectiveness using tools like Azure Monitor and GCP Operations Suite. Support automation and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ARM templates, or scripting tools. SQL Server Administration (On-Prem & Cloud): Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases on both on-prem and cloud-hosted systems. Ensure database availability, performance tuning, and storage optimization. Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning using native tools or third-party solutions. Implement security best practices including authentication, role management, and encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted). Plan and maintain HA/DR setups using Always On, Log Shipping, or Mirroring. SSIS / SSRS / ETL Support: Deploy, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes. Troubleshoot and optimize ETL pipelines across environments. General Administration & Support: Respond to service requests, incidents, and change management in a timely manner. Collaborate with development, and security teams to align database/cloud strategy with business needs. Maintain documentation and follow best practices for compliance and audits. Participate in performance reviews, patching cycles, and capacity planning. Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience in a combined Cloud Administration (Azure/GCP) and SQL Server DBA role. Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2016 and above, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS. Hands-on experience with Azure Portal, GCP Console, and related cloud services. Familiarity with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or gcloud CLI for automation. Working knowledge of HA/DR, monitoring tools, and database performance tuning. Understanding of cloud networking (VNETs, subnets, firewalls, peering). Certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, or MCSA: SQL Server are a plus.
