Café Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience & Sales

• Warmly greet and assist customers, ensuring a memorable and positive café experience.
• Guide customers through the menu, suggest bestsellers, and upsell or cross-sell products to boost average order value.
• Handle customer feedback, queries, and complaints with patience and empathy.

Sales Driving & Visual Merchandising

• Drive daily, weekly, and monthly café sales through goal-setting and local marketing efforts.
• Ensure appealing visual display of bakery products, seasonal collections, and coffee counters.
• Execute basic menu engineering strategies to promote high-margin or signature products.

Team Management

• Lead, manage, and train a team of 4–5 front-of-house and support staff.
• Create shift rosters, monitor punctuality, and ensure staff discipline.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and service-first team environment.

Product & Operations Knowledge

• Have a basic understanding of specialty coffee (brewing methods, espresso-based drinks) and bakery products (cakes, pastries, breads).
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and availability during operating hours.

Operational Efficiency

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the café.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist in reordering, and reduce wastage.
• Report daily sales and operations metrics to the central team.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience:

  Minimum 3 years in a café or bakery in a managerial/customer-facing role.

• Soft Skills:

  Polite, calm, persuasive, and highly customer-centric.

• Leadership:

  Confident in leading small teams, resolving conflicts, and training new staff.

• Sales Skills:

  A natural salesperson with knowledge of upselling, cross-selling, and product recommendations.

• Flexibility:

  Comfortable with late working hours and high-volume days (festivals/weekends).
