Business Intelligence Intern

Responsibilities

This person will be focused on developing and maintaining data pipelines and BI tools.

• Work proactively with stakeholders to prepare data solutions for new products and feature releases, with a strong focus on optimizing and troubleshooting any data pipeline issues or nuances.
• Work independently, demonstrate creativity, and deliver quick results while maintaining a collaborative, team-player attitude.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, apply best practices learned from other teams, and consistently strive for high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure clarity and accessibility for future reference and team collaboration.
• Perform extensive quality assurance (QA) to ensure data quality and integrity. Follow standard processes for reporting any identified issues and collaborate with appropriate data teams to resolve them.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and willingness to learn database technologies, including relational, columnar, and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redshift).
• Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms is a plus.
• Desire to leverage scripting and experience with Python programming language (basic to intermediate level).
• Eagerness to work with large data sets, data architecture, complex data pipelines, and data management and governance.
• Nice to have: experience with DBT.
• Knowledge of AWS services like IAM, EC2, EMR would be an added advantage.

• Experience creating presentations in MS PowerPoint or a similar tool
• Excellent interpersonal skills — both written and oral communication.
