Business Head Transport (Trucks Fleet) | Rajnandgaon

The Head Transport & Logistics will lead end-to-end transportation operations for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods across road (Trucks). The role is responsible for ensuring cost-effective, safe, and compliant movement of bulk and finished materials while supporting uninterrupted plant operations. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong experience in Central India logistics, fleet management, and vendor governance.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations (Trucks)

• Lead complete transport operations including inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
• Manage owned, leased, and market fleets for bulk and heavy cargo movement.
• Plan and optimize routes to minimize freight cost and improve turnaround time (TAT).
• Oversee daily dispatch planning in coordination with plant, SCM, and sales teams.

Cost & Budget Management

• Prepare and manage annual transport budgets.
• Drive freight cost optimization through rate negotiations, long-term contracts, and productivity improvement.
• Monitor freight billing, verification, and cost control mechanisms.

Vendor & Fleet Management (Trucks)

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with transporters, fleet owners, and logistics partners.
• Finalize contracts, SLAs, and performance KPIs for transport vendors.
• Ensure availability of vehicles during peak demand and emergency situations.

Compliance & Risk Management (Trucks)

• Ensure full compliance with Motor Vehicles Act, RTO regulations, e-way bills, GST, insurance, permits, and safety norms.
• Handle transport-related legal matters, claims, accidents, and insurance settlements.
• Implement and enforce road safety standards, driver training, and SOPs.

Systems & Digital Enablement

• Implement and monitor Transport Management Systems (TMS) and GPS-based fleet tracking.
• Generate MIS, dashboards, and analytics for cost, productivity, and service performance.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop transport supervisors, coordinators, and gate teams.
• Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
