Job Title: Business Development Manager – Energy Domain (North India)

Role Summary:

We are looking for a driven and experienced Business Development Manager for our Energy domain, focusing on developing business opportunities in GIS, automation, and data analytics for power utilities (generation, transmission and distribution) and government agencies across North India. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving strategic partnerships, lead generation, tender pursuits, and account growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Development:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across state utilities- generation, transmission, distribution companies, SLDCs, and central energy departments.
  • Map key stakeholders in government and semi-government energy organizations.
  • Sales & Tender Management:

  • Track, evaluate, and respond to relevant RFPs/RFIs/EoIs/tenders in the energy domain.
  • Work closely with presales, solution architects, and bid teams for proposal submissions.
  • Solution Selling:

  • Articulate and pitch GIS-based solutions, asset management, automation (SCADA/RTU/SAS integration), remote sensing, Analytics based solution
  • Develop customized solution strategies aligned with customer pain points and utility modernization goals.
  • Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key decision-makers in energy utilities.
  • Conduct regular client visits, technical discussions, and presentations.
  • Strategy & Reporting:

  • Contribute to regional sales plans, forecasts, and market intelligence.
  • Maintain updated reports on pipeline, activities, and competitive landscape.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/IT/Instrumentation /Electronics/Telecommunication/Geo-informatics) or equivalent.
  • Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development/sales, preferably in the energy domain with exposure to GIS, automation, SCADA, or data analytics.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Indian power sector and utility operations.
  • Exposure to Govt bidding processes and tendering portals.
  • Experience in solution-based consultative selling.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and basic technical proposal preparation.
